Swiss students from BFH University (Bern) have developed a Mobile App for Sharada Academy, that will help thousands of Students & Teachers from rural Government schools learn Spoken English on the Go!!
As part of the pilot project, the students will conduct comprehensive field tests of the App, involving the Teachers & Students of Govt. Primary School - Cheeluru village on 15th May 2024
The Inaugural session of "Spoken English" Online course from Sharada Academy targeted at Government School Teachers, was held on Friday 19th April 2024. The session was attended by 9 Teachers from Ramanagara, Tumakuru & Belagavi districts of Karnataka. By actively participating in the "Spoken English" course, the Teachers wish to bring change not just in themselves but in the lives of their students, as well.
MargaDarshak Program (MDP) was kicked off on Wed 6th Dec with the 1st session on "Preparing a CV" - an essential need for college students. This is a unique Mentorship program for under-privileged College going girl students hailing from semi-urban and rural areas. The Program covers various topics related to Communication, Soft skills etc. delivered by a team of Expert Mentors.
The inaugural batch of our "𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡" online course for under-privileged college students concluded on 1st September 2023. The batch was attended by a cohort of 12 girl students, pursuing their degree from colleges located in Chikkaballapur and Bangalore Rural districts. Certificates were issued to the students and Cash awards given to the toppers.
Sharada Academy was launched on the occasion of Sharada Educational Trust completing 1 year. The inaugural session on Spoken English online course was attended by 15 Teachers/Staff members of Punyatma Trust’s Residential School for Disabled Children at Igatpuri in Nashik district. Webinar on 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 was conducted for a cohort of 20 senior professionals from Swiss Learning Exchange, who are undergoing certification programs in the field of Sustainability on Wednesday 25th October 2023.
On our 2nd Anniversary - 18th April 2024, a “Financial Literacy” program was organised in collaboration with “Samudayik Shikshan Abhiyan” - Thane (Maharashtra), attended by 150+ under-privileged kids from the slum areas of Thane and about 15 Lady Volunteers. The program started with a Story telling session by the Volunteers followed by Drama Competition & Quiz.
Just as summer vacation commenced, 𝟔𝟓 students from 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 - 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 received the 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 - a 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 kit from consisting of 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬. The children also received 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐬 with drawing material.

“Financial Literacy” program, was organised in partnership with Madilu Trust. 50 rural kids belonging to tribal families attended along with their Parents. The event started with story-telling followed by Drama competition on the theme of “Financial Literacy”. The event concluded with a Quiz show followed by Lunch.

75 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 from 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 5𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 7𝐭𝐡 participated in the event that started with an educational session on 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, followed by planting of 𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠s in the school premises. A set of 4 Notebooks was donated to the students alongwith a fruit sapling, post the event.
Sharada Educational Trust partnered with Gramaantara Trust, to donate Computers and Library-In-Classroom Kit consisting of 100+ books sourced from Pratham Books, to 40+ students of Govt. Lower Primary School - Ragimakalahalli (80 kms from BLR)
Workshop to create awareness of various Govt. schemes related to zero balance account, insurance schemes for nominal premium, collateral free loans at low interest rate, pension schemes etc., was conducted for about 40 under-served women from Sidlaghatta town (70 kms from BLR)
40 students from Class 5th to 7th participated in the event that commenced with an educational session on environmental awareness followed by - planting a sapling in the school premises - gifting of fruit saplings to the kids - pledge to take care of the saplings and to plant more trees.
An event to spread "Financial Literacy" among the rural kids was successfully conducted on Sat 15th April 2023 at JnanaShala Community Centre - Cheeluru village (Kanakapura taluk). The event consisting of storytelling, puppetry and drama competition was attended by 110 kids from 4 villages

Library kits from Pratham Books donated to 3 Centres of Learning at Thane (Maharashtra), containing 300+ books in English, Hindi and Marathi on subjects like financial literacy, environment, history, geography, great leaders and moral stories. The centre caters to 500+ under-privilged students from Hindi and Marathi medium schools, residing in the slum areas of Thane.
Books were donated to the Library housed within the Panchayat Office at Cheemangala village, in the presence of the PDO - Mr Tanveer Ahmed and students from nearby Govt. Primary school
A session on “Financial Literacy” was organised in partnership with MoneyShiksha, SIDBI, KSWDC and Happy World Foundation on Sun 12th Feb at Basavanagudi-Bangalore. 60+ street-side vendors, hawkers, security guards and house-maids attended the session, that not just created “awareness” but also helped them with the critical “last mile” support.
School Sapling event focused on creating environmental awareness, was organised at Govt. School, Cheemangala village, Chikkaballapur dist., attended by 107 students. 10 tree saplings were planed in the school premises and each student was given 2 fruit saplings to plant near their Homes.
Event held at GHPS-Koira village, Devanahalli taluk, impacted 80+ students from Classes 5th to 7th. The program involved an educational session on environment, healthy life practices, moral values, followed by planting of 10 tree saplings in the school premises and every student was gifted 2 fruit saplings
On the occasion of Smt Anuradha Kamath's 80th Birthday, the event was held at a Residential School and Vocational centre for children and youth with "Intellectual disability" and Speech and Hearing related disability. The centre located at Igaturi in Nashik district, is managed by Punyatma Trust
The event held at a rural Govt. School near Pandavapura (130 kms from Bangalore) was attended by 150+ students studying in Std. 3rd to 10th. 10 tree saplings were planted in the school premises and students were given 2 fruit saplings each to plant near their Homes. The event was conducted in partnership with Happy World Foundation and GHVS Trust
